God’s Work. Our Hands. On September 10, LIFT will gather for a light lunch at St. Mark at 11:30, and then break off into small groups to caravan or carpool to various sites for an afternoon of service projects. This is in response to the invitation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) to mark that day as God’s Work Our Hands Sunday. Because different projects can take different amounts of time, depending on the size of the group, each site will have a sheet with a closing prayer rite to pray together as work ends. Projects include: -Mulching and weeding at Birchard Place (FKA Community Fortress) -Clothes sorting at Alicia’s Closet, a resource for foster families, housed at St. John’s -A project with LIFT’s Bridge of Hope pantry -Card and letter writing for shut-ins, advocacy, and the incarcerated will be at St. Mark
Yellow “God’s work. Our hands.” t-shirts will be available for $10 each. If you would like to help fund one of these projects with a $250 Thrivent Action Grant or to serve as a project site captain (coordinate details for project), contact Pastor Paul Bailie--[email protected].
